Goodbye old friend...

Time has come to sell the 1dsmk2, new 5d2 makes this pretty much obsolete in every fashion, so after been relegated as a backup for the last few shoots it will be put up for sale mid June.

Hardest thing is working out what it's worth... 30604 Actuation's (on this shutter) few dents and scratches but in perfect working order.

It's been the best piece of photographic equipment I've ever had the pleasure of owning, I can really see why people love 1 series bodies but for my line of work the weight is a major negative for rig work.

This is a very old and ugly camera.... it is difficult to use and the weight of it make it unpleasant to use also.... the photos you have provided us show the poor condition of the camera and well as it having done such a large number of shots... from my experience i think that you are looking to get around $50-100 if you find a good buyer.

I'd be willing to pay AT LEAST $150...

But seriously, I will take it off your hands for a reasonable price (use it as a transitional camera into the 1 series)

But yeah, Seriously give me a call/email when you do decide to sell it...

Dear Chris,

For having been a 1 series owner for many years, 1DMKII bundle with 1DsMKII and then 1DMKIII with 1DsMKII and now only with 5DII, I have to say that image quality is great on the 5DII but that the AF is far from being a 1 series.

The only focus point that actually works well is the center one. Others have a tendency to hunt even with Canon L series lens in 2.8 or 1.2.

I hope that you have tested the 5DII before switching. I love my two 5DII but I sure miss the speed and availability of the AF points from a 1 series.

I would be interested too in the sell, if you decide to do it.
